Action Moving Partners with Move for Hunger and 2nd Harvest
April 28, 2011Move For Hunger
Move for Hunger was started in New Jersey as one person’s novel idea to stop throwing away unwanted food items when it is time to move. Moving customers like this program because they are helping out those in need and they efficiently get rid of things that they do not want to ship. It was a great idea and it spread to other moving companies fast, including ours. Now Move for Hunger has moving companies working for their cause in nearly every state. Action Moving is the first to participate in Spokane. For more info on the program and participants visit the Move For Hunger Website or the Move For Hunger Facebook Page.
Our Spokane Partner – 2nd Harvest
What a great name. 2nd Harvest is a leading food bank in Spokane and throughout the Inland Northwest. They are the local food bank that we have chosen to take our donations of food collected during our Move for Hunger campaign. What really turned me on to this collection outfit was that we can drop food off at their location, and it is shared equitably throughout Spokane and Spokane Valley. We have employees that live on the South Hill, up North, in Central Spokane, and in the Valley and I would be remiss if our efforts did not benefit all of these areas. I love that the whole metropolitan area of Spokane will benefit from our efforts, so it was a pretty easy choice. To learn more about 2nd Harvest and its mission check out the 2nd Harvest Website or the 2nd Harvest Facebook Page.
Kick-off Event
Action Moving is planning an event on Saturday, May 14 to start the program off with a ton of momentum. Stay tuned to the Action Moving Facebook Page for updates and info on how to contribute. We’re really excited about getting started.
